Over 400 people enjoyed an evening of music, food and auctions at the Lewis and Clark Foundation Trail Mixer.
The Lewis and Clark Foundation serves to support the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center.
This year’s theme was “Your Ticket to Great Adventure” with many trips up for auction around Montana and the world.
Live auction travel experiences included: a trip to Chicago with tickets to a Chicago Cubs game, golfing in Arizona, and a Cancun paradise escape.
Closer trips included: skiing in Red Lodge and Coeur d’Alene, and whitewater rafting on the Spokane River.
This year also featured a special auction for a limited edition, fender telecaster guitar signed by the entire original band of The Eagles, including Glenn Frey.
This is the 14th year of the Trail Mixer and it is the foundation’s biggest fundraiser of the year.
Executive Director Jay Russell said community support is growing more important.
“In recent years, the center’s lost some funding through the Forest Service and we’re still doing well, but it’s good for us to show the Forest Service and the government that the community supports the interpretive center,” said Russell.
The Trail Mixer usually raises about $42,000 for the foundation.
