As temperatures start to feel more like spring, it’s almost time to break out the golf clubs and hit the green again.

In December 2018, Great Falls City Commissioners approved a three-year management agreement with a California-based company, CourseCo, to manage the city’s municipal golf courses, including Anaconda Hills and Eagle Falls.

The courses were operating at a $1 million debt to the city’s general fund.

CourseCo’s objective is to make the courses profitable and reduce the debt.

Bob Geppert, the new general manager of both Eagle Falls and Anaconda Hills, said they agreed with the city to not change any pricing this year. However, a new military discount will be offered for daily golf.

Geppert said, “We’re anxious to try to get the military to come to the golf course more often.”

The city has also given CourseCo a budget to redo the food and beverage area at Eagle Falls. Until the project is completed, they will sell everything out of the golf shop.

Geppert said, “The community will find a golf course that has a better culture and has better business procedures so that everyone will understand what’s happening and why. I’m very impressed in what we’re hearing from the guests and golfers about the conditions of the golf course. They like this golf course, so now my job is to change the culture and to change the process.”

Eagle Falls Golf Course will open on Saturday, April 13 while Anaconda Hills is set to open soon after in April.
