Russell Runway Show gives Western Art Week a fashion twist

Posted

GREAT FALLS – Western Art Week crossed paths with the fashion world Saturday at the Russell Runway Show.

The show at Meadow Lark Country Club featured nine designers showing off their wearable work.

Each piece brought the creator’s own special flair to western style.

The runway show and auction also raised money for the Russell for Learning Program.

The program brings literacy education through art to low-income and rural schools.

Organizers said the runway show is an important part of Western Art Week and a fun change of pace.

“Fashion itself is an art, dressing is an art and we have some beautiful pieces here that are just amazing,” said Bromley Blumfield, chair of the Russell Runway Show.  “I love seeing women smile when they see clothing and imagine themselves in some of these pieces.”

As part of the runway show, some designer pieces were auctioned off.

They also auctioned clothing with art painted by some of the artists featured in the main Russell Auction event.

Our very own Shannon Newth was the emcee for Saturday’s event.
