Heather Hoyer has been selected to become the new secondary assistant superintendent of Great Falls Public Schools.
Hoyer and three other candidates were interviewed by district and community leaders Wednesday after being selected from a pool of nine applicants.
In an announcement Friday, Tom Moore, the current secondary assistant superintendent, said Hoyer was chosen after careful consideration.
Hoyer will succeed Moore, who will become the new superintendent of Great Falls Public Schools following Tammy Lacey’s retirement, on July 1, 2019 pending the school board’s approval.
Hoyer is the current principal of Great Falls High School, a role she’s held since 2015. Prior to that, Hoyer was an associate principal at the high school for seven years from 2008-2015. She taught science and coached at GFH from 1996-2007.
