A sea of green will take over the streets of downtown Great Falls this weekend.

The Ancient Order of Hibernians will host its annual Saint Patrick’s Day Saturday.

Ancient Order of Hibernians President Rory Schulte said they try to hold the parade on Saint Patrick’s Day, but this year they wanted people to enjoy their Sunday.

“We get to celebrate being Irish 365 days a year, which we really enjoy. We want to share that with everyone. This is the day we get to do that so that is what we are proud of,” Schulte said.

The Ancient Order of Hibernians is an Irish Catholic organization that focuses on charity, brotherhood and Irish culture.

The organization has hosted the parade since 1993 and they hope to see people lining the streets for the celebration this year.

“We enjoy being around the people. I think that is one of the things that people really enjoy is to be able to get out, meet new people, see old faces and have that tradition that we have every year,” Schulte said.

Schulte said they are still looking for entries for the parade and you can find register on their Facebook page.

The Saint Patrick’s Day parade will take place at 1:30 p.m. Saturday on Central Avenue beginning at the Civic Center and ending at 8th Street.
