GREAT FALLS – More details have been released regarding a Saturday morning incident involving a Great Falls man charged with aggravated burglary and kidnapping.
Jarrel Anderson has now been charged with nine felonies, including aggravated sexual intercourse without consent, and two misdemeanors.
According to an affidavit obtained by MTN from the Great Falls Police Department, officers were dispatched to a home on the 400 Block of 10th Street North around 6:30 a.m for a report of suspicious activity.
Upon arrival, an officer found Jarrel Anderson and a female — identified in the affidavit as the victim — in a minivan outside of an apartment. The officer placed Anderson under arrest upon recognition of his identity, beginning an investigation.
The affidavit states Anderson told law enforcement he “believed the individuals in the apartment, whom he had never met, had something to do with the disappearance of his son.”
But Anderson’s son was never missing, according to the affidavit. Anderson told GFPD he was allowed in to the residence to search for “evidence” of his son’s disappearance.
Both witnesses and the victim contradicted this, telling officers how Anderson forced himself into the apartment. Anderson wielded what witnesses described in the affidavit as a “sling blade.” Anderson’s threats led the witnesses to believe they would be killed or injured if they attempted to interfere in Anderson’s actions.
The victim stated, per the affidavit, that Anderson put a sharp weapon to her throat and forced himself upon her.
Anderson has been charged with nine felonies:
- one count of aggravated burglary,
- three counts of aggravated kidnapping,
- three counts of assault with a weapon,
- one count of aggravated sexual intercourse without consent,
- one count of robbery.
He was also charged with two misdemeanors: theft and obstructing a peace officer.
