A franchise CBD retailer, Big Sky American Shaman, has opened its doors in Great Falls after months of delays.
Owner Carey Hendricks first applied for a permit with the city in October. The city delayed approving the needed permits because of legal concerns.
Hendricks credited Montana Department of Agriculture Attorney Cort Jensen and Mayor Bob Kelly with helping to clear up confusion.
The shop sells CBD vapor products, creams, oils and edibles, all derived from hemp.
Hendricks said she got into the business to help people, but hemp products still face a stigma.
“I’m not selling marijuana. My products will not get you high, they are here for pain and wellness,” she said. “It’s just not going to give you that high that people think it is.”
Big Sky American Shaman is located at 827 9th Street South and is open Monday through Saturday 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
