GREAT FALLS— More information regarding service arrangements have been announced to honor the life of Jason Baker.
The Great Falls firefighter died Wednesday after a two-year long battle with cancer.
A memorial service for Baker will be held on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at 2 p.m.
That service will be open to the public.
It will be held inside the Great Falls Civic Center, in the Mansfield Convention Center.
All attending with fire service or law enforcement apparatus are to arrive at the designated staging area between 11 and 11:30 a.m.
The staging area will be located at 1st Avenue South and Park Drive South Park at the barricade, after which attendees will be directed by staging personnel.
Park Drive South, from First Avenue North to First Avenue South, and Central Avenue, from Park Drive South to 2nd Street, will be closed from 9:30 am to 5 p.m. on Tuesday.
Jason Baker was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer in October 2016.
He was forced to retire from Great Falls Fire Rescue at the end of last year.
Baker used his illness as a platform to promote health and safety for firefighters across Montana.
Jason Baker was 45 years old– and leaves behind a wife and two children.
Donations can be made to the family through the “Jason Baker’s Family Benefit Account” at the Montana Federal Credit Union.
