A home brewer’s award-winning beer was released at a Great Falls brewery Friday.
You can taste Steve Cantrell’s Blood Moon dark wheat ale brewed with blood orange at Mighty Mo Brewing Company. The first keg was tapped at 2 p.m.
Cantrell’s beer brewing journey started unexpectedly a little over two years ago. He bought a small starter kit for about $300 and got hooked.
Last summer, he entered a dark wheat beer with blood orange and coriander in a contest with Montana Home Brewers and Mighty Mo Brewing.
Blood Moon won the fruit beer category and best of the show.
