(GREAT FALLS) The C.M. Russell Museum’s Russell Auction is coming up in March.

Aside from the artwork, organizers are setting the scene and partnering with Great Falls Public Schools for the auction décor.

Students enrolled in the workshop course are making center pieces that will be displayed for Friday night’s First Strike event on March 22.

Great Falls High students handcrafted 25 candle holders and C.M. Russell students welded steel skulls.

This is the first year the C.M. Russell Museum is partnering with GFPS students.

10th grader Benjamin Lyons said he’s honored to be a part of such a big event in town.

“It’s very important to me because I feel like I’m doing good things for the community and I feel like I’m giving back to them a lot. I really like it, it’s a really fun experience for me,” Lyons said.

The Russell auction festivities kick off Thursday, March 21 with an art preview party.
