It’s that time of year again when love is in the air: Valentine’s Day. Some people love it and some people hate it.

But My Viola Floral Studio said it’s their busiest day of the year. Owner Kari Lane Johnson said, “It beats Mother’s Day by a long shot. We usually sell out everything.”

She added that everyone loves to express their love on this holiday and flowers are the perfect way to do that.

But, it’s not just a one day holiday. Preparations for Valentine’ Day at My Viola Floral Studio start at least a week and a half before. They prepare by starting to fill containers and vases and then beginning to add foliage and bows.

Johnson said she looks back on years past to gauge what to make because they’re always getting last minute orders, even the day after Valentine’s Day.

Johnson added, “There will be last minute people, you know, they forget Valentine’s Day, so they’ll be calling on Friday as well.”

She said the most popular item remains the classic red roses but she also gets a lot of requests for custom designs that are fun, artistic and creative.

This year My Viola Floral Studio teamed up with two other local businesses so customers can get a three-in-one deal.

The other two businesses are Candy Masterpiece and Originality Balloons. This allows people to get candy, flowers and balloons all in one order.
