A Great Falls teenager is giving back to the community through the Boy Scouts.
Andrew Cochran is currently working towards getting his Eagle Scout rank with Troop 007. It is the highest achievement attainable in the Boy Scout program.
For his service project, he decided to give back to the Great Falls Community Food Bank.
“The boy scouts have done so much. Every year we do scouting for food and that is one of their biggest helpers. I decided I might as well give them some extra space so they can take more food throughout the year,” Cochran said.
Cochran was able to raise $1,300 for the shed, which he built along with help from Summit Structures.
“I learned quite a bit out there. After every day, my hands were tired after handling the nail gun,” Cochran said.
Cochran said his favorite part about the project was helping the community.
The food bank will use the shed for some much needed extra storage space.
