Great Falls welcomes two new businesses while another expands

Posted

Business changes continue in the Electric City as two establishments are set to open soon while another has relocated to expand operations.

Canyonville Golf Club

Canyonville Golf Club wants to keep Great Falls in the swing of things as it prepares to open with two indoor golf simulators.

Canyonville partner Don Potter said the full-swing simulators measure the movement of your ball for realistic play on 84 courses from around the world.

Club members can set their tee time online and then help themselves using the credit card reader at the door to pay for play.

The hitting bays also have their own lounge area with a fridge and television to make it a more complete entertainment experience.

Potter said the new venue will help keep golfers in the game.

“Winter in Montana can get quite long and golfers are a serious bunch. They would like to practice all year or go south and play golf,” he said. “You can practice your game in a realistic environment here all winter long, extend your golf season too year round still living in Great Falls.”

Canyonville Golf Club is at 410 Central Avenue. They hope to open in early February.

Great Falls Canine Academy

Another business celebrating its first storefront is the Great Falls Canine Academy.

The full-training academy offers a variety of classes for different pet dog needs.

Owner Gabrielle Plascak said she has worked in boarding facilities, vet offices, and private homes, but now she’s ready for her own space.

The Great Falls Canine Academy focuses on positive reinforcement training rather than punishment-based training.

An open house was held Saturday to let people and pups check out the new digs.

“A space like this is going to provide us with full classes up to six dogs a class and a place for people to actually come and train on their own,” Plascak said. “We have clients that will be doing continued education courses and stuff where they can just pop in and use this space to work with their dog that they don’t have at home.”

The Canine Academy, which is located at 900 10th Avenue South, plans to officially open Monday, January 28.

Bloom and Bean

Bloom and Bean Espresso Bar and Floral Shop needed some room to grow.

Today, Bloom and Bean is open in a new location at 1012 9th Street South.

Owner Rebecca Hannant said she is excited to go from renting a room to having her own shop.

She said the new location will give customers time to sit and enjoy their coffee or sweet treats in a relaxing environment.

“I love it. I love it here and it has a good vibe and has a good feel. It’s mellow and it’s a good spot to come and enjoy a coffee,” she said. “We have free wifi so you can come study and it’s nice and quiet.”

Hannant also needed more room for floral arrangements.

She said weddings have really helped her business grow and now they have bookings into 2020.
