The 14th annual Margarita Meltdown, a fundraiser for Eagle Mount-Great Falls, will take place Friday evening.
The funds go towards Eagle Mount’s Adaptive Recreational Programs. They currently have 11 different Adaptive Recreational Programs and serve anyone who has a doctor-diagnosed disability. They have helped people from as young as 6 weeks to 102 years old.
A few examples of these programs include an equestrian program, skiing at Showdown and their sled-rink program at the Great Falls Ice Plex.
Eagle Mount’s Executive Director Deb Sivumaki said, “It’s very expensive to run adaptive, purchase adaptive equipment or to run the adaptive program. There are fees that we have to pay through the places that we go and those fees add up and we run year round. So, this event is extremely important because we ask the community to come out and help us raise this money and so, your one night of fun provides us with a year’s worth of recreational activities.”
It takes Eagle Mount about two days to set up the event and about one day to take everything down.
The event includes beach decorations, such as two dump trucks filled with sand.
Deb added, “You’re tired of the holidays, you’re tired of the cold weather, and you want to kick off those snow boots and put on your flip flops!”
This year’s event will have a four-hour concert by Patrick & the Las Vegas Band. They will play from 7-11:30 p.m.
Food will be provided by Big Mouth BBQ and they will also sell local craft beers, water, soda, and, of course margaritas!
Tickets will be sold at the door for general admission: $35 a ticket. You must be 21 years old to enter the event. They will accept cash, credit or debits cards.
The event averages around 1,200 people a year. It will end at midnight and the option to sign up for a free ride home provided by the Cascade County Tavern Association is available.
