Due to the natural cycle that takes place in law enforcement, including promotions, the Cascade County Sheriff’s Office is currently hiring.
There are currently 13 positions open including 10 Detention Officer openings and 3 Deputy Sheriff openings.
Cascade County Sheriff Jesse Slaughter said, “If you’re interested in law enforcement, interested in corrections, it’s a really good time to apply. These are really good jobs, really good paying jobs with good benefits.”
Some conditions to apply include a good background and work ethic, a high school diploma and United States citizenship.
Slaughter added you need to be willing to do the things that needs to be done in law enforcement, which oftentimes can be very dangerous.
He encourages anyone to apply, even if you don’t have a lot of work experience, because working as a Detention Officer is a good foot in the door.
Slaughter said doing this type of job is very rewarding, “Working in any type of law enforcement or corrections is very satisfying. You truly get the opportunity to serve the public, provide them with customer service.”
