A large tree was toppled by the gusty winds in Great Falls on Thursday morning.

It happened along Central Avenue West near 27th Street.

The downed tree also brought down a power line.

Great Falls Fire Rescue and NorthWestern Energy are at the scene to remove the tree.

There are no reports of injuries.

Gusts could exceed 50 miles per hour across the region, with gusts up to 65 mph along the Rocky Mountain Front.

Some areas along the Front could even see gusts over 85 mph – especially in areas that are prone to higher wind gusts like Deep Creek.

A High Wind Warning is in effect for areas along the Rocky Mountain Front through 5 PM this evening due to the high gusts forecasted for this afternoon.
