Matthew Harold Brawt has been reported as a walkaway/escapee from the Great Falls Pre-Release Center.

He reportedly left the center at 6:02 a.m. on Wednesday to go to work; his employer notified the center at 10 a.m. that Brawt never showed up.

Brawt was last seen wearing a bright green shirt, gray sweat shirt, black jacket with hood, and white painters pants, and was carrying a red backpack.

Brawt has convictions in Yellowstone County for being a persistent felony DUI offender with at least four DUIs; and convictions in Fergus County for burglary and theft.

If anyone sees Brawt or has information about his location, you’re asked to call the Great Falls Police Department at (406) 727-7688 or the GFPRC at (406) 727-0944.

The GFPRC is located at 1019 15th Street North. The facility is a operated by private non-profit group contracted by the Montana Department of Corrections and the federal Bureau of Prisons.

They typically house about 240 men and women at a time and all of those residents are required to hold full-time jobs in the community. Along with work, residents must fulfill any legal obligations such as fines or substance abuse treatment.

Most only stay at the center for about six months before they are allowed to return to life in the community.
