It’s the time of year again for those brave enough to take a freezing plunge for a good cause. The Polar Plunge requires participants to jump into icy water to raise money for Special Olympics Montana.

The event on Friday, December 7, during the Christmas Stroll, raises thousands of dollars for the sports organization.

A few teams this year include KRTV, the University of Providence, PrintingCenterUSA, D.A. Davidson, and FCR, among others.

PrintingCenterUSA, located on 9th Street North in downtown Great Falls, is also harnessing its customer base to help raise money, with a portion of all online orders donated to the cause through December 6th. So far, they have raised more than $10,000.

As of Saturday afternoon, a total of $23,477 had been raised. The goal is to reach $35,000.

The Polar Plunge kicks off at 7 p.m. at the intersection of 4th Street and Central Avenue.
