Community Health Care Center receives $1.6 million grant

Posted

The Community Heath Care Center in Great Falls has received a major federal grant.

The $1.6 million grant provides funding to the sliding fee discount that makes community health centers an affordable option.

The grant also helps formalize the Community Health Care Center’s transition from a county entity to an independent non-profit.

The CHCC serves medical, behavioral, and dental need from several locations around the community.

The grant is administered by the U.S. Department of health and human services to help people get appropriate care

“Most often a federally qualified health care center is focused on a demographic of 200 percent of the poverty level or below, and 30,000 of Great Falls residents fall in that category so we see it as a great opportunity for us to continue providing excellent high quality care at affordable prices,” said Erin Merchant with the Community Health Care Center.

The Community Health Care Clinic plans to announce its new name as an independent non-profit at the beginning of 2019.
