With music, food, and dancing, the Great Falls LGBTQ Center held its first-ever Masquerade Gala on Saturday.

The sold-out event featured a performance by the Mister Sisters, a silent auction, photo booth, and food and drinks.

The money raised will go towards paying rent for the Center, which is located at 600 Central Avenue on the third floor.

LGBTQ Board President Heather Smith said the event was about informing those in the community about the Center and having fun.

“It’s really important that people know we are here. Not so much everybody that is here tonight, but the youth and young people who are maybe struggling with their identity and who they are and really getting a chance to know that we are here for them if they need to talk, if they need a safe space,” she said.

The LGBTQ Center is open Monday through Thursday from 3-7 p.m., Fridays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Saturdays from 1-5 p.m.

The Center hosts support groups, offers walk-in hours, and holds other events.

Its mission statement is to enhance and sustain the health and well-being of the LGBTQ+ community by providing activities, programs, and services that will empower our community to embrace and support our cultural diversity.
