In Cascade County, we are still awaiting final numbers and confirmation of who will be the next Sheriff.

Jesse Slaughter defeated current Sheriff Bob Edwards in the democratic primary and faces Bob Rosipal.

Rosipal started with the Sheriff’s Office as a deputy in 1992 and has worked his way up to lieutenant.

Slaughter is a detective with the Great Falls Police Department and has nearly two decades of law enforcement experience.

The numbers right now indicate Slaughter leads Rosipal.

According to the Cascade County Elections Office, about 90 percent of all ballots had been counted as of 5:15 p.m.

The current tallies for two Cascade County races are as follows:

CASCADE COUNTY SHERIFF/CORONER:
Jesse Slaughter: 17,062 (53%)
Bob Rosipal: 15,223 (47%)

CASCADE COUNTY COMMISSIONER:
Jane Weber: 16,376 (51%)
