The owners of the Roadhouse Diner donated over $1,000 to match a Great Falls band’s fundraising goal for a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Los Angeles.
Jason and Tara Beam gave $1,080 to the band, Call of the Awakened, on Saturday, which helped them reach their $2,000 goal.
Band members Dillon Kuntz, Nathan Ross, Lance Rader, Jayden Harrison, and Noah Harrison will travel to Los Angeles to record an album with music producer Mikey Doling.
The Roadhouse Diner posted the following message to their Facebook page:
The incredibly talented guys from the band Call of the Awakened were raising money on GoFundMe for their trip to L.A. to work with music producer Mikey Doling – so we brought them in to meet them – and fulfill their fundraising and get ‘em there! Jayden, Noah, Dillon, Lance and Nathan are keeping the metal alive and making Great Falls proud!
The band knew the trip would be a challenge, but it’s just one of many the band has faced already as two members lost their father to a car accident. Their dad was one of their biggest fans.
In a statement posted to their Facebook page, the band thanked the Roadhouse:
A huge thank you to Tara Beam and the Roadhouse Diner for bringing us out to their restaurant, giving us a free meal, and donating such a generous amount to our GoFundMe! These guys have sealed the deal for us and we can’t thank them enough. We can’t wait to get out to L.A. and show everyone what we got! The donations are even still rolling in, and we couldn’t be happier.

“The end goal for us is to eventually get signed and be a regular touring band,” bass guitarist Nathan Ross said.
The masterminds behind the band ‘Call of the Awakened’ were then high school freshmen Dillon Kuntz, Nathan Ross, Lance Rader, and Jayden Harrison.
‘Call of the Awakened’ was just a hobby at the time.
Now they are turning their dreams into a reality and traveling to Los Angeles to record an album with music producer Mikey Doling.
“If we raise all this money and go to L.A., well that’s the start of the journey,” lead singer Dillon Kuntz said.
The band knows this will be a challenge, but it’s just one of the many the band will and has faced already.
Two of the band members lost their father to a car accident. Their dad was one of their biggest fans.
“It was a really hard thing to go through, but we’re coming back stronger than ever and we’re ready to make this second album. It’s the best comeback story I can think of,” drummer Jayden Harrison said.
And did we mention their age? These young musicians are ages 19-20, the youngest is only 16.
“These guys went from strangers to friends to brothers, we’re a family now,” Harrison said.
Taking a tragedy and turning it to inspiration, the band writes their original songs from their own life experiences.
“If I could get just one person to say that our music changed their life, this would be a success,” guitarist Lance Rader said.
But they need your help. Living on their own, working side jobs, and creating music, they are trying to save as much money as they can for their trip to L.A.
“If they help us out, we are going to deliver an amazing record and they just might be able to say that a huge band came from their own town,” Kuntz said.
