Wildfire burning 250-to-300 acres near Dixon

DIXON - Sanders County Wildland Fire updated that operations continue on the Magpie Rock Fire that is eight miles west of Dixon.

The CSKT Division of Fire says that the fire is now estimated to be between 250 and 300 acres.

There are 10 smokejumpers, three Type II crews with 20 firefighters each, two Type 6 engines, two helicopters and two bulldozers along with overhead personnel assigned to conduct control operations that are all currently on the scene of the fire.

No evacuations have been ordered and no structures are currently threatened.

Crews are battling a 100-acre wildfire that's burning in the Dixon area.

The CSKT Division of Fire says that the Magpie Rock Fire -- which is burning eight miles west of Dixon -- was reported early Monday morning.

Fire officials believe the blaze may have started from a lightning holdover, but the exact cause remains under investigation.

Aircraft, along with two Type 6 engines, one 20 man Type II Initial Attack Crew, and two dozers are assigned to the fire.

There are no evacuations and no structures threatened by the fire. Active fire behavior is being seen on the Magpie Rock Fire and there are road closures in the area.

People are being asked to avoid the area and adhere to all road closures that are in place.
