According to Meagher County DES Coordinator Rick Seidlitz a fire burning south of White Sulphur Springs destroyed structures on several properties.

Seidlitz didn't have a complete count of structures lost but said the fire burned between 1200 and 1400 acres on Wednesday.

The fire is burning about 7 miles west of U.S. Highway 12 in the Birky Rd. area south of White Sulphur near the foothills of the Big Belt Mountains.

Seidlitz said fire crews were working on mopping up the fire around 8:00 p.m.

Seidlitz say the fire is suspected having started from a garbage pit.
