Small fire quickly handled at KOA campground in Great Falls

GREAT FALLS — On Friday night, the Sand Coulee Volunteer Fire Department responded to the KOA campgrounds on the east side of Great Falls for a report of a small wildland fire.

It happened at the Great Falls KOA campground facility located at 1500 51st Street South.

Mutual aid was provided by firefighters from the U.S. Air Force and Black Eagle Volunteer Fire Department.

The fire was contained and burned a small area.

The cause was a gas can too close to an ignition source.

There were no injuries, and no damage to structures reported.
