BILLINGS — Brian Prettyweasel, one of two suspects who led Billings police on a six-hour chase on August 6th, was apprehended Monday by authorities in Butte at a Taco John's drive-thru.
Butte-Silver Bow County Sheriff Ed Lester deputies were called in to assist the U.S. Marshals with the arrest of 32-year-old Prettyweasel, the second suspect in a Shepherd shooting and ATV theft.
Prettyweasel backed into another car in the drive-thru before he was taken into custody, Lester said.
Prettyweasel and 29-year-old Teylon Fritzler led Billings police and Yellowstone County Sheriff's deputies on a chase and manhunt through the Billings Heights on August 6. Fritzler was taken into custody the same day.
On August 7, Yellowstone County Sheriff Mike Linder asked for the public's help in finding Prettyweasel, who was thought to have escaped the area through transportation to the Billings South Side.
(AUGUST 11, 2020) Yellowstone County will temporarily hold custody of a man sought in connection with a Shepherd robbery and shooting, which led to a manhunt in the Billings Heights area last week.
Teylon Fritzler, 29 years old, was arrested on a bench warrant out of Big Horn County, and Yellowstone County plans to send him back to face charges of tampering with evidence, drug possession and criminal contempt from a June incident. He was seen in Yellowstone County District Court Monday to face the warrant.
Fritzler and another suspect - Brian Prettyweasel, who has yet to be caught - were on the run for what police said was the shooting of a man in Shepherd on Aug. 6. A homeowner was shot after he noticed the two men trying to steal an ATV ramp from a vehicle.
The two men fled, and a deputy spotted the suspect's vehicle heading toward Billings Heights, which led to the manhunt in the Alkali Creek area.
The men abandoned the vehicle at a dead end on Sahara Drive. Police spent hours searching for the men, while area residents were told to shelter in place and lock their doors.
Fritzler was seen by neighbors later that evening emerging from the woods near Tumbleweed Drive and taken into custody on the warrant, while Prettyweasel, 32, is still at large.
Police continue to be on the lookout for Prettyweasel and say he is still considered to be armed and dangerous.
On Tuesday, a judge ordered that Fritzler’s case be continued on a bond of $25,000.
