Jaden Peet of Kremlin pleaded guilty on Monday to sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl in 2018, according to the Havre Herald.

Peet faces a minimum of four years imprisonment for felony sexual assault.

Peet is scheduled to be sentenced in March.

(NOVEMBER 9, 2018) Jaden Peet is being held in the Hill County Detention Center on two counts of sexual intercourse without consent involving a 13-year old girl.

According to court documents, parents of the girl contacted law enforcement last week to report they found text messages that implied the girl snuck out to spend the night with Peet.

The Havre Daily News says that Peet, who is 18 years old, reportedly offered her a pipe he was smoking and she smoked it. She told the deputy she thought it contained marijuana. She said she also drank some alcohol.

She told the deputy that she became very tired and went with Peet to lie down in a bedroom, and said Peet started kissing her, and she told him to stop, the document said.

She eventually told deputies that Peet had sex with her twice over the course of the night, with her trying to stop him both times.

According to Montana Code 45-5-501 , consent to sexual intercourse can not be given by people who are:

  • (i) mentally disordered or incapacitated;
  • (ii) physically helpless;
  • (iii) overcome by deception, coercion, or surprise;
  • (iv) less than 16 years old;
