The Yellowstone County Coroner's Office has identified the man who died after being shot on Cormier Road south of Billings as Josiah Small, 32 years old.
According to Yellowstone County Sheriff Mike Linder, Small called dispatch to report he'd been shot at about 6 a.m. on Thursday, November 7, 2024.
It happened in a rural area on Cormier Road, which is south of Blue Creek Road.
Deputies tried to resuscitate him, but he did not survive.
The cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds, and the incident is being investigated as a homicide, according to Juhl.
Small spent time living in both Lame Deer and Billings, according to Yellowstone County Deputy Coroner Valerie Juhl.
Linder has not identified a suspect, and no other details have been released at this point.
