GREAT FALLS — Kevin Lee McGillis has been charged with two felonies for allegedly sexually assaulting two children under the age of 12.

In August, a girl reported that McGillis had allegedly touched her "private parts," and described that it happened numerous times in McGillis' home when she had spent the night.

Court documents state that a second girl, when interviewed by investigators in December, said that she too had been touched inappropriately by McGillis in a similar manner. The child said that McGillis touched near her "private area" and her breasts.

The court documents also state that McGillis had previously been charged with of sexual assault against children under the age of 16, and that he had "access to significant resources" and was able to post $100,000 bond in that case.

McGillis also was charged in two other sexual assault incidents, but that case was dismissed after a victim recanted due to, according to court documents, "...family dynamics and lack of support" for the alleged victim.

The current investigation is ongoing, and law enforcement believes there are more victims of McGillis that will result in additional similar charges involving sexual crimes against children.

The court documents close by stating: "The State believes that the Defendant is an extreme danger to children in this or any community and the Defendant has the resource to flee. Several of his victims who are now adults continue to suffer the effects of his abuse."

Prosecutors requested that bail for McGillis on the current charges be set at $500,000.
