BOZEMAN — Jordan Batters, 27 years old, appeared before a judge in Bozeman on Thursday after being arrested Wednesday.

The Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy noticed Batters swerving and drifting while driving east on I-90. The deputy said Batters would over-correct the vehicle by jerking the wheel.

Reports say the swerving continued down 19th Avenue.

According to the deputy, when he attempted to stop the vehicle on North 27th Avenue, Batters sped up until he eventually crashed into a parked car.

Deputies say Batters got out of the car and ran away; the deputy chased after him, and found Batters hiding in a nearby bush.

Prosecutor Ashley Carroll said in court: “Mr. Batter’s criminal history, it appears that he has two DUI convictions from 2011 and 2015, possession of controlled substance in 2011, robbery in 2013, and a history of probation and parole violations.”

Batters is charged with DUI (misdemeanor, third offense); fleeing from a peace officer; and obstructing a peace officer; and parole violations.
