(UPDATE) Columbia Falls Chief of Police says that 50-year-old Alan Roger Connor Jr. of Columbia Falls has been arrested and charged.

Connor faces the following charges, according to Peters:

  1. Attempted Negligent Vehicular Assault
  2. Criminal Endangerment
  3. Criminal Mischief (3) Felony
  4. Aggravated DUI
  5. Driving While License Suspended or Revoked
  6. Operating a motor vehicle with no proof of insurance
  7. Duty to give information or render aid at an accident scene

Chief Peters noted in a news release that the investigation “has led us to believe that Connor’s actions were not in any way related to a political, social, or terroristic-type attack and this was an isolated incident.”

Anyone who was inside Super One Foods at the time of this incident who hasn't already spoken with law enforcement is asked to call police at 406-892-3234. Chief Peters added investigators are attempting to determine the number of people who were in the store at the time the vehicle crashed through the doors.

(1st Report, November 12) On Thursday night, a man was taken into custody after driving through a Columbia Falls grocery store before crashing his vehicle and running away.

Columbia Falls Police Chief Clint Peters said a man in his 50s drove his vehicle into Super 1 Foods at around 5:30 p.m.

After coming in through the front doors, the man then drove down an aisle to the back of the store, before turning around and driving down another aisle.

He then left through the front doors and crashed the vehicle across the highway. Peters said the man ran away, but was eventually found and taken into custody near the Columbia Falls Mini-Storage area.

The man's name has not yet been released, but officials say they plan to provide it and more details on Friday. There were no injuries reported.

Chief Peters added that Columbia Falls residents immediately rallied to help clean up the store, which he said says a lot about the community. There is no word at this point on the dollar amount of damage.
