Willard McCaulou, 46, has been arrested for sexual assault of a child.

According to court documents, the Cascade County Sheriff’s Office was contacted in September of 2017 for a sexual assault complaint.

Two pastors from a Great Falls church became aware that McCaulou had been inappropriately touching a girl. The pastors told deputies McCaulou was a violent person with anger issues.

A detective contacted the victims’ relatives who had texts from the victim stating McCaulou had touched her inappropriately.

The relatives told the detective, “Willy is an angry man. He can hide and cover up a lot of things. [Jane Doe] needs to be protected.”

According to court documents, when the victim met with the detectives, she gave them a diary. She was also fearful to disclose the full extent of the abuse.

In October of 2018, family members contacted the detective and stated McCaulou found out about the complaints and the victim had left the state.

Family members contacted the Sheriff’s Office in February of 2019 and told them the victim was ready to talk about the abuse. Court documents state the sexual abuse started when she was four and went on until she was 17 years old.

The victim told detectives about how McCaulou would watch porn on his phone with other children around and he would touch them inappropriately as well.

She stated that if she became attached to a dog or other animals, he would cut their heads off.

Court documents state McCaulou told the victim that if she ever reported any of the abuse, he would not go alone. She took this as a threat to her family, according to court documents.

On March 6, 2019, officers executed a search warrant on McCaulou’s home in Boulder, Montana. They seized several electronic devices. When officers interviewed McCaulou, they asked if there were any naked pictures of girls on the devices and he hesitated, according to court documents.

The case is still under investigation.

McCaulou is scheduled to appear in Cascade County District Court on Wednesday. He is being held on a $250,000 bond.
