Shayanna England was found guilty Wednesday of involuntary manslaughter for the death of Eljay Young Running Crane.

Young Running Crane died in January of 2018 after England struck him with a vehicle on BIA Route 1 in Heart Butte.

The trial for the case began Monday with testimonies from two witnesses who had been in the car with England at some point in the night, two Montana Highway Patrol troopers, and two Blackfeet Community Hospital doctors who treated Young Running Crane before he died.

England was found not guilty on one count of assault resulting in serious bodily injury.

She is out on her own recognizance until sentencing on June 27, 2019.
