A Great Falls woman is facing several charges after an incident involving gunshots at an apartment complex Tuesday night.
Michelle Louise Allyn, 58, has been charged with four felony counts of criminal endangerment and a misdemeanor for partner/family member assault.
An affidavit states Great Falls police officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of 7th Street South around 10 p.m. for several calls of gunshots in the area. One caller identified Allyn as the person who fired the gun.
Officers found Allyn in a stairwell at the apartment complex. She was bleeding from her left forearm and had blood on her clothing, according to the affidavit.
Allyn told officers she was the one they were looking for, but said, “There’s no gun.”
Officers then contacted a man and woman who had been in the apartment with Allyn. They told officers Allyn was upset and had argued with the man.
Allyn had then locked herself in her bedroom when the man and woman heard one to two pops, according to the affidavit. Two young children were inside of the apartment at the time.
The woman found a gun case on the bed in another bedroom. Officers found the gun loaded with two rounds discharged, according to the affidavit.
The affidavit states Allyn was highly intoxicated during the incident. The man told officers Allyn attempted to punch him several times after firing the gun.
Officers spoke with others at the complex who reported hearing the sounds of gunfire.
While police did not find where the rounds struck in the apartment, court documents state they found probable cause to believe Allyn “knowingly discharged the firearm two times with the other four people inside of the apartment placing them at risk for serious bodily injury or death.”
Prosecutors requested bond be set at $25,000.
