Christianson changes plea in Great Falls stabbing death

A Great Falls woman has changed her plea in the stabbing death of Steven Fletcher.

Linda Christianson pleaded no contest to one count of mitigated deliberate homicide and tampering with evidence.

Fletcher was found dead at his home on Lower River Road in March of 2017.

Initial reports suggested suicide, but upon arrival, deputies determined his death to be suspicious.

Court documents state evidence showed a knife was placed in Fletcher’s hand after he had died.

Investigators determined no one else besides Christianson was in the residence at the time of Fletcher’s death.

Her sentencing has been set for April 1.


(April 26, 2017) Officers with the Cascade County Sheriff’s Office served an arrest warrant to Linda Christianson for the death of Steven Fletcher.

The warrant is for charges of deliberate homicide and tampering with evidence related to the Fletcher’s death.

A press release from the Cascade County Sheriff’s Office says that Christianson was arrested in Ravalli County.

Fletcher was found dead at his home at 5405 Lower River Road on Sunday, March 5th.

Officers responded to the home for a report of a suicide at about 4:47 p.m.

During the initial stages of the investigation, Deputies felt that the death was not a suicide and deemed the scene and circumstances suspicious.

The initial investigation shows that Fletcher may have been stabbed.

No other details of the charges have been released at this point.
