Helena police investigating two armed robberies

HELENA- The Helena Police Department is investigating two armed robberies that happened Thursday night.

Police say the suspect walked into a business on the 1600 block of Prospect just after 10 p.m., showed a gun, and demanded cash.

According to police, he fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.

About 10 minutes later, police responded to a second reported armed robbery on the 1100 block of E. Lyndale. Police say the second robbery followed the same pattern as the first.

Helena’s Loose Caboose Bar and Casino said it was one of the casinos robbed.

In a Facebook post, the business said the suspect was wearing an bandana over his face so that “only one eye was exposed” and was wearing a dark blue or black hoodie.

Witnesses said it appears the suspect was carrying a semi-automatic handgun and fled on foot.

The suspect is approximately 6′ tall and and of thin build. The Loose Caboose Bar and Casino said no one was physically injured.

Police said the case is actively being investigated and there is no other information at this time.
