Jeremiah Garrett was arrested and charged with several felonies and misdemeanors Sunday morning after numerous cars were vandalized and one house burglarized in Great Falls.

According to the Great Falls Police Department, officers responded to a report of suspicious activity around a truck at about 7 a.m. near the 1500 block of 5th Alley South.

The GFPD said Garrett, 37, was dumpster diving when they arrived on scene. He became agitated and confrontational, according to the GFPD, who searched him and found a prescription pill bottle that did not belong to him.

About an hour later, the GFPD received several calls for vehicle vandalisms along 5th Avenue South. A residential burglary was also reported along 4th Avenue South.

A pocketknife Garrett was carrying matched the slash marks in the vehicle tires, according to the GFPD. He also had property on him that was taken from the reported 4th Avenue South burglary.

Garrett has been charged with several felonies including burglary, theft, and criminal possession of dangerous drugs. He was also charged with nine misdemeanor counts for criminal mischief and additional misdemeanors for theft, criminal possession of dangerous drugs, and trespass to vehicle.
