Chazkay William Ouzts has been charged after he reportedly broke into an apartment by kicking in the door and assaulted a man with his keys.

Court documents state that officers responded to a reported home invasion on the 3000 block of 11th Avenue South. A woman told officers that Ouzts – her ex-boyfriend – forced his way into her apartment by kicking in the door.

Another man inside the apartment asked Ouzts to leave, but Ouzts challenged the man to a fight and charged at him. The man tried to push Ouzts out of the apartment; Ouzts then placed the man in a head-lock and “stabbed” him on the top of his head with his keys, according to court documents.

A neighbor then arrived and helped remove Ouzts from the apartment, and he ran away.

Police later found Ouzts and arrested him on the 1300 block of 29th Street South.

Ouzts has been charged with aggravated burglary (felony), criminal mischief (misdemeanor), assault (misdemeanor), and partner/family member assault (misdemeanor.

Prosecutors noted that although Ouzts has no criminal history as an adult, he has a “lengthy” juvenile criminal history, including violent offenses.

Bond for Ouzts was requested at $20,000.
