Ethan Alan Williams, 18, and Isac Jose Stafford, 21, were arrested after allegedly fleeing from an officer attempting to pull them over for driving a stolen vehicle.

According to an affidavit, a Great Falls Police officer was stopped at the intersection of 2nd Avenue South and 14th Street South when he observed a white Chevrolet Silverado traveling south along 14th Street South. The officer had been looking for the truck as there was a pending call for service involving the theft of the vehicle.

As the vehicle passed, the officer reported he saw a male driver and a passenger ducking down in their seat.

He attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the vehicle fled westbound on 3rd Avenue South at speeds estimated at 80 miles per hour. Other officers observed the vehicle stopped at 2611 Upper River Road in the Pleasant Park Mobile Home Court.

The affidavit states the vehicle was unoccupied, but a witness told officers she saw two young males run from the area of the truck into a residence. A male outside the residence told officers the males ran into the trailer.

The officer gave the suspects commands over a PA system. After approximately one hour, Williams and Stafford surrendered to officers on scene. The officer indicated Stafford was the male he saw driving the truck.

While investigating, the officer learned Stafford had three theft convictions and that a separate theft had occurred on the same block as the stolen truck.

While searching the residence, officers found a stolen backpack from the previous theft. The total value of the second theft was greater than $1,500 as it also involved the theft of a new generator and designer sunglasses.
