GREAT FALLS — Montana health officials reported Friday 10 new COVID-19 cases across five counties, according to the Montana Response COVID-19 tracking map.
Gallatin County reported six new cases, while Big Horn, Custer, Lake, and Lewis & Clark counties each reported one new case. Custer County health officials reported Thursday the new case is the first one reported in that county. Health officials in Big Horn County also reported the new case on Thursday afternoon.

The new cases push the state cumulative total to 573. There have been 489 recoveries and there are currently 66 active COVID-19 cases statewide.
MTN is reporting one fewer total case and one fewer recovered case due to a case in Jefferson County that local health authorities report involved a patient who was not in the state.
Big Horn County is now reporting 28 active cases and Gallatin County has 26 active cases. Yellowstone County has five active cases. Seven people are currently hospitalized and the death toll remains at 18. There have been a total of 57,022 tests statewide, an increase of 1,245 since the previous 24-hour reporting period.
In addition, health officials on the Flathead Indian Reservation have received a report of three preliminary positive COVID-19 cases, according to the Lake County United Command Center.
The County is waiting for confirmation from the Montana Public Health Lab.
Public health nurses have been in contact with the patients and patient's families to identify individuals who were at risk for potential exposure. Individuals identified as close contacts have been notified by the Lake County Public Health Department.
