Warm, dry summer weather

Over the next several days we’ll be under a common summer weather pattern.

That means warmer temperatures, with highs in the mid to upper 80s, and, with a few exceptions, generally drier weather.

Generally this is the weather pattern that dries us out over the summer, and brings us drought and increased fire danger.

So far that’s not the case.

We’ve picked up lots of rain in North Central and Northeast Montana so far this month, and almost none of our area has any drought concerns.

That will help slow the development of fire season.

However Western Montana has many dry spots, and fire season there may start sooner.

We’ll continue to monitor drought and fire weather concerns as we switch over to the drier, warmer weather.
