Tracking heavy rain

Posted

Our mountain snow is mostly over with, and now the focus shifts to heavy rain for parts of the state.

As of Friday afternoon an area of low pressure was generating heavy, slow moving rain showers in Northeast Montana.

Significant rain has already been reported, and rain is expected to continue through the night into Saturday.

An additional inch or two of rain is possible where the heaviest showers move through.

Scattered, lighter showers will occur statewide Saturday.

Winds will also stick around in Eastern Montana on Saturday, with gusts as high as 50 miles per hour.

Farther west, gusts will top out around 30 miles per hour.

Highs remain in the 60s.
