Friday is the first day of summer!
In true Montana fashion, we’ll welcome it in with some mountain snow.
Winter Weather Advisories are in effect until noon on Friday for parts of the area, mainly above 5,500 to 6,000 feet.
In those areas 1 to 4 inches of snow is expected, with some higher peaks, especially in Southwest Montana, receiving 6 to 12 inches.
Lower elevations will not see snow, however, they will see rain.
In fact, parts of Eastern and Northeast Montana are under an Areal Flood Watch until midnight Saturday, because up to 2 inches of rain are in the forecast.
Most of us will pick up between a quarter and half an inch through Saturday.
Temperatures will be cooler through Saturday too, mainly in the 50s and 60s.
