Snow by the weekend

We’ve got a lot of weather headed our way.

We’re still tracking the possibility of a few thunderstorms Friday evening.

More rain and a few more rumbles are expected to develop Saturday afternoon.

Those will be accompanied by highs in the mid 50s, and gusty winds up to 30 miles per hour.

What we’re keeping the closest eye on though, is rain turning to snow Saturday night, and snow lasting into Sunday.

There are many factors at play that make this forecast difficult.

For one, models differ on the timing and intensity of the snowfall.

We’re also expecting the mountains to strongly influence snow totals.

On top off all that, ground temperatures are well above freezing, so much of the snow will melt on contact.

In general, we’re looking at 1 to 4 inches at lower elevations, with 6 inches, to as much as foot or more in the mountains.

We’ll also see very strong wind gusts Sunday, so blizzard-like conditions will be possible at times.

See the attached video for more details.

Stay tuned for updates, as the forecast is likely to change.
