Floodwater update for Cascade County

Flood concerns remain an issue for Cascade County on Tuesday.

Below is a detailed list from the Cascade County Sheriffs Office and the Cascade County Public Works Department regarding area flooding and closures.

As of Tuesday morning…

Highway 87 is open, however, some rural routes off of 87 are still impacted.

6th St NW, Vinyard RD, and Stuckey RD, are back open. Maintenance will be performed on theses roads all day Tuesday.

East Portage RD, ¼ mile off highway 87, is still closed. This section of roadway is not expected to be opened on Tuesday. As of Tuesday morning, water was still flowing heavy across this section of road making it impassable.

Morony Dam RD, and the intersection of Portage Coulee RD, is still closed down North on Portage Coulee RD, due to heavy mud.

Public officials remind the public to use extreme caution around flood water. They suggest you do not drive through the water. Public Works and rural fire we’re on several scenes throughout the day on Monday.

Roads affected are:

  • 6th Street NW at Watson Coulee Rd
  • Stuckey Rd and Watson Coulee Rd
  • Black Horse Lake Road and Highway 87
  • Portage RD and Highway 87
  • Portage coulee Rd is closed at Morony Dam Rd
  • Dent Bridge RD and Highway 87
