The 2019 Russell Exhibition is now open to the public before their 51st Russell sale in March.

The exhibition includes over 200 pieces made up of contemporary artists and historic artists.

Some of the historic artists include C.M. Russell, John Fery and O.C. Seltzer.

There are 12 C.M Russell pieces for sale including “Approach of White Men,” which is this year’s cover piece.

“Approach of White Men” is an oil painting and is projected to sell for anywhere between $1.25 million and $1.75 million.

C.M. Russell Museum Marketing Manager Christina Horton said, “One of the most exciting things for us here at the museum is to be able to present this exhibition because many of the historic pieces that we sell have been in private collections and have not been available to the public. So, for the next month, while the exhibition is open, people are welcome to come in.”

One example of a piece that has not been seen much by the general public is a C.M. Russell watercolor that has been in a private collection for years.

The Russell Exhibition will be available for the public to view through Thursday, March 21.

The Russell auction will be held on March 22-23.

The first strike auction will be held on Friday, March 22 and will offer 80 pieces. The remaining pieces will be in the Saturday night auction.

The Russell event is a major fundraiser for the C.M. Russell museum, where they raise about half of their operating costs.
