Heavy snow moved through Central Montana Friday night through Monday morning.
Some areas saw snowfall rates of 2 inches per hour and many saw accumulated totals of 5-10 inches.
From 10 PM Friday through 5:30 AM Saturday, National Weather Service Great Falls recorded 6.2 inches at their office.
These heavy bands of snow now are in northeast Montana where Winter Weather Advisories and Winter Storm Warnings remain in effect through Sunday evening.
Scattered light snow showers continue through this evening for central portions of the state.
Arctic air returns to the state this evening and sticks around through the start of the work week.
A Wind Chill Advisory is in effect from 8 PM Saturday through 5 AM Sunday for portions of central and north central Montana.
Frostbite and hypothermia can occur if the proper precautions are not made.
The coldest period of time will be Sunday night through Monday morning.
Wind chills will be ranging from -20 to -40. Bundle up if you are heading outside to shovel that snow!
A major “heat wave” with high temperatures in the teens and twenties moves in for Tuesday.
