After a mild and breezy morning with temperatures in the 40s and even 50s, an arctic cold front is moving south through the state this evening.
Temperatures along the Hiline dropped 20-30 degrees in less than an hour.
At 3 PM, the cold front is now moving through the Great Falls region.
Snow will develop this evening and continue through all day Sunday and even through Monday morning.
Snow amounts of 6-12” are likely across central and northeast portions of the state with heavier bands of snow.
National Weather Service has issued Winter Weather Advisories or Winter Storm Warnings for the entire state of Montana.
For Super Bowl Sunday, travel impacts will be a huge concern.
Temperatures will be below zero or in the single digits and with blowing snow, travel will become very hazardous to near impossible at times.
Scattered snow continues through the morning on Monday and temperatures will remain below zero or in the single digits through Tuesday.
Wind chills will be 20-30 degrees below zero at times.
Another round of snow showers is possible on Tuesday.
