The brief burst of snow we saw earlier this Friday has now lightened and made its way into the mountains.

However, we do have more snow in the forecast!

For portions of Northeast Montana that snow will arrive as soon as tonight, but will be light in nature.

The rest of us will have to wait until Sunday.

In the meantime, warmer, windier weather is in the forecast.

Lows Friday night will fall only into the mid 20s across the state.

Highs Saturday will be in the upper 30s to mid 40s, with winds gusting to 40 miles per hour.

We’ll also see the chance for some rain or a rain snow mix through the day, especially east of Great Falls.

More widespread rain and snow is expected Sunday, which will gradually turn to all snow through the day as colder weather moves in.

Preliminary snow estimates are on the order of just a few inches, but heavy snow is expected  in the mountains of Central Montana once again.

For that reason A Winter Storm Watch is in effect for Sunday and Monday.
