Winds returned overnight with peak wind gusts generally in the 30-40 mph range with stronger gusts recorded along the Rocky Mountain Front.
A 77 mph gusts was recorded today 8 miles from East Glacier Park.
A High Wind Warning remains in effect for the Northern Rocky Mountain Front and Eastern Glacier through 8 PM Sunday.
Winds do die down a bit this evening before ramping up again Monday afternoon.
A fast moving disturbance will bring periods of mountain snow through Monday afternoon and evening.
A few snow showers could make their way into the lower elevations, but generally little to no accumulation is expected with the exception of some areas seeing a few inches.
A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for the following areas through Monday at 5 PM: Beaverhead, Cascade, Central & Southern Lewis and Clark, Gallatin, Madison, Meagher and the Rocky Mountain Front.
The worst impacts will be in the higher elevations. Travel can be difficult at times, especially when blowing snow reduces visibility.
Cooler air is moving in for Monday and Tuesday but still generally near average.
Winds will calm down again for Tuesday.
A high pressure ridge builds on Wednesday allowing for warmer air to once again move in.
